The UCLA Alumni Association has adopted these guidelines to ensure customer privacy and protect personal data.
Information Collection and Use
We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (e.g., profile information) or allows us to contact you. Such information may be requested when you register for BruinWorks; join the Alumni Association; update your membership profile, passwords and official alumni records; register for a service; or access functionality that is specifically programmed for degree holders. Your profile information may be used for the following purposes:
- To make the site easier for you to use and navigate
- To help you quickly access services or information on our internet sites
- To help us create content relevant to you
- To alert you to site updates, new features and Association-related benefits and offers
Profile Information Specification
If you choose not to provide profile information, you will still be able to access content. However, you will not be able to access areas or sources that require profile information.
If you decide to provide profile information, you will be able to select the information you wish to receive from the UCLA Alumni Association in the future. You also will be able to select the personal information you want to be made available to Association members or other degree holders via BruinWorks, the UCLA Alumni Directory, the UCLA Career Network, and other UCLA Alumni Association online communities.
Personal Information Updates
We provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current. You may review and update this information at any time in the My Profile section. There, you can view and edit personal information you have already provided.
BruinWorks, alumni.ucla.edu and our other internet sites protect the security of your personal information and honor your choices for its intended use. We carefully protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction. Personal information will be used for UCLA Alumni Association business purposes only.
When you log in, you will be asked for an e-mail address and password to authenticate you for security purposes. Your Association login also allows access to members- or degree-holder-only sections of alumni.ucla.edu.
As mentioned above, every registered user has a unique personal profile. Each user is assigned a unique member identification or alumni ID number, which helps us ensure that only you can access your profile.
Your member identification number or alumni ID can be found on your UCLA Alumni Association Membership Card or by contacting 310-825-2586, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Once you have logged in for the first time, you may set up a personal security password. This allows you to log in to BruinWorks and alumni.ucla.edu without having to remember your member identification number or alumni ID. The security of this password is completely dependent on you, the user.
The UCLA Alumni Association regularly facilitates valuable connections with service providers called affinity partners. You have the right to control whether you receive product or service information from our affinity partners. Read more.
